Getting back into the grove


  So the past few weeks have been kind of busy, went to Atlanta for a few days and got to visit my sister in law and her family! It was great to see the kids...

While we were down there Stacey, my sister in law gifted me with a pretty large canvas, I'm super stoked, but still not sure on what to paint. I rarely do large paintings...

Here is a cartoon I'm working on, thinking of making her look kinda vintage, Gothic, Elvira like! Spider webs and roses will be added...I've really been trying to do some more drawing, letting my creative juices flow and come up with some really great ideas. One I have and I do have to give credit to Ben's little brother Johnathan, but I'm thinking of doing a cartoon Indian zombie girl...we shall see!

Hey all! I know I haven't really been keeping up with this blog as much as I can. I wish I had more time to just sit and type whats been going on, so here is a bit of an update! New City, New Art - Progress marches on

So my husband and I have been here in Denver now for about 9 months now and we are loving it! Now don't get me wrong, living in the mountains was amazing and we both definitely needed that, but change is great and I couldn't live life without a little now and then. Plus it was time for Ben and I to really start our own future.   From the moment we drove into Colorado I felt like I was home, I feeling I was not as familiar with as I wanted. This place was amazing, visual and just down right inspiring. There just seems to be a general caring for here. The environment is just clean and vast. Anyways I could go on and on. Moving here has kick started the passion for creativity again, the excitement for the future and what it holds. So my goal has been to try and dive into the art scene here and get into as many art shows as possible. Free Hand

  So I have been trying to do some free hand painting in my spare time! Working at the Zoo has been great, but it keeps me busy! I was used to having 4 days off, now I only have 2...so it's a lot harder to work on extra things!   But I push on..so here is a small painting I did last weekend and a sketch for a big painting I am planning! You will proably see a lot of these post for a while...small paintings and sketches is all I really have time for!   The painting is inspired by my back yard. Dark foggy nights are the best in the mountains... I painted this all free hand with acrylic paint...free hand has always been a challenge for me...mostly because I am O.C.D., so most of the time I draw on my canvas and then paint...I have been trying to challenge myself and I like what came out!
