Native American Girl

Working on a couple new paintings for this and next week...almost done with an Native American girl cartoon I've painted, not sure on the title yet. I was thinking maybe "Rising Moon". Well here's a picture of it 1/2 way painted...


Its been hard the past few weeks, I haven't really gotten to paint as much as I'd like...its been craziness with Ben's brother graduating and working.

Still stuck on what to do with a couple new large canvas's Ive been gifted...I don't do a lot of super large pieces.

Well hopefully today I will be able to finish this painting!

Hey all! I know I haven't really been keeping up with this blog as much as I can. I wish I had more time to just sit and type whats been going on, so here is a bit of an update! New City, New Art - Progress marches on

So my husband and I have been here in Denver now for about 9 months now and we are loving it! Now don't get me wrong, living in the mountains was amazing and we both definitely needed that, but change is great and I couldn't live life without a little now and then. Plus it was time for Ben and I to really start our own future.   From the moment we drove into Colorado I felt like I was home, I feeling I was not as familiar with as I wanted. This place was amazing, visual and just down right inspiring. There just seems to be a general caring for here. The environment is just clean and vast. Anyways I could go on and on. Moving here has kick started the passion for creativity again, the excitement for the future and what it holds. So my goal has been to try and dive into the art scene here and get into as many art shows as possible. I do have to remind myself that we are still settling in and to pace myself but I'm ready to hit the ground running.   I will be apart of the

Free Hand

  So I have been trying to do some free hand painting in my spare time! Working at the Zoo has been great, but it keeps me busy! I was used to having 4 days off, now I only have 2...so it's a lot harder to work on extra things!   But I push on..so here is a small painting I did last weekend and a sketch for a big painting I am planning! You will proably see a lot of these post for a while...small paintings and sketches is all I really have time for!   The painting is inspired by my back yard. Dark foggy nights are the best in the mountains... I painted this all free hand with acrylic paint...free hand has always been a challenge for me...mostly because I am O.C.D., so most of the time I draw on my canvas and then paint...I have been trying to challenge myself and I like what came out!
