Working on it

Here are some paintings I am currently working on. Not too sure of the titles yet. The pink one is going to have a Jack Daniels bottle in the middle. I should be finished with all of them by next week. With the girl painting I have been working on adding some texture to the border. There will be spiderwebs when its all finished...still  a little iffy on putting roses in there or not. The bearded man, he just needs line work and details. I'm sure excited about these paintings! I already have a bunch of new ideas for others!

I'm hoping I can bust out some more these coming weeks, July will be crazy for me, I have my best friend coming in to town and also my family. July will probably be a break from painting.

Hey all! I know I haven't really been keeping up with this blog as much as I can. I wish I had more time to just sit and type whats been going on, so here is a bit of an update! New City, New Art - Progress marches on

So my husband and I have been here in Denver now for about 9 months now and we are loving it! Now don't get me wrong, living in the mountains was amazing and we both definitely needed that, but change is great and I couldn't live life without a little now and then. Plus it was time for Ben and I to really start our own future.   From the moment we drove into Colorado I felt like I was home, I feeling I was not as familiar with as I wanted. This place was amazing, visual and just down right inspiring. There just seems to be a general caring for here. The environment is just clean and vast. Anyways I could go on and on. Moving here has kick started the passion for creativity again, the excitement for the future and what it holds. So my goal has been to try and dive into the art scene here and get into as many art shows as possible. Free Hand

  So I have been trying to do some free hand painting in my spare time! Working at the Zoo has been great, but it keeps me busy! I was used to having 4 days off, now I only have 2...so it's a lot harder to work on extra things!   But I push on..so here is a small painting I did last weekend and a sketch for a big painting I am planning! You will proably see a lot of these post for a while...small paintings and sketches is all I really have time for!   The painting is inspired by my back yard. Dark foggy nights are the best in the mountains... I painted this all free hand with acrylic paint...free hand has always been a challenge for me...mostly because I am O.C.D., so most of the time I draw on my canvas and then paint...I have been trying to challenge myself and I like what came out!
