Working on it

Here's a sketch of what I'm working on. Took the horse skeleton from a drawing i found online, drew it and added my own touches. The snakes with be all different colors of the rainbow. Instead of a horse, its a unicorn.

I'm currently searching for glow in the dark paint for the piece as well! Thinking of doing this on a long canvas! Let me know what you think!

    Great Piece!

    Are you doing it in acrylics? Michael's has a wide selection of acrylic paint (not "artist quality", but I use it just fine)and they have everything from florescent to glow in the dark.

    Sweet Thanks! I always go to Micheal's for all supply! I wish they had more glow in the dark paint though..options are minimal! I always use acrylic and water colors. Its actually almost finished and It came out great! More pictures to come soon! Thanks for your help and support!!

New City, New Art - Progress marches on

So my husband and I have been here in Denver now for about 9 months now and we are loving it! Now don't get me wrong, living in the mountains was amazing and we both definitely needed that, but change is great and I couldn't live life without a little now and then. Plus it was time for Ben and I to really start our own future.   From the moment we drove into Colorado I felt like I was home, I feeling I was not as familiar with as I wanted. This place was amazing, visual and just down right inspiring. There just seems to be a general caring for here. The environment is just clean and vast. Anyways I could go on and on. Moving here has kick started the passion for creativity again, the excitement for the future and what it holds. So my goal has been to try and dive into the art scene here and get into as many art shows as possible. Free Hand

  So I have been trying to do some free hand painting in my spare time! Working at the Zoo has been great, but it keeps me busy! I was used to having 4 days off, now I only have 2...so it's a lot harder to work on extra things!   But I push on..so here is a small painting I did last weekend and a sketch for a big painting I am planning! You will proably see a lot of these post for a while...small paintings and sketches is all I really have time for!   The painting is inspired by my back yard. Dark foggy nights are the best in the mountains... I painted this all free hand with acrylic paint...free hand has always been a challenge for me...mostly because I am O.C.D., so most of the time I draw on my canvas and then paint...I have been trying to challenge myself and I like what came out!
