Dead Love Art

This swamp is full of the dark unknowns; Envision this mystery, through the all-seeing eyes of the Toxic Toad. What you find, may end up consuming your soul.

For you I hold all the secrets of the magic forest. Our eyes see all. Collect us and we shall show you all the mysteries we hold.

Working for a dark and mysterious power, mother collects her monsters. Using a bird, she recently killed, for a vase to hold her beauties. You'll get a rather sharp surprise if you try to go near.

Hey all! I know I haven't really been keeping up with this blog as much as I can. I wish I had more time to just sit and type whats been going on, so here is a bit of an update! If your not already following me on Instagram, please do-There you'll get to see behind the scenes looks of creations on working on and more! Follow me @Deadluvart   So life has just been crazy, there are times every one has where it all just seems non-stop. That's pretty much where I'm at currently. Still juggling two jobs-my art which one day I pray to be able to do full time and my job at the zoo! Don't get me wrong I love my zoo family but living with all this hand pain from overworking it-gets old at times. I know one day I'll have to make a choice, but for now ill keep gimping along.   So I have been working on a few different things currently. One is a super huge secret, so that's all I can say about that, more on that next year! I've also been working on a few doggy p...

So my husband and I have been here in Denver now for about 9 months now and we are loving it! Now don't get me wrong, living in the mountains was amazing and we both definitely needed that, but change is great and I couldn't live life without a little now and then. Plus it was time for Ben and I to really start our own future.   From the moment we drove into Colorado I felt like I was home, I feeling I was not as familiar with as I wanted. This place was amazing, visual and just down right inspiring. There just seems to be a general caring for here. The environment is just clean and vast. Anyways I could go on and on. Moving here has kick started the passion for creativity again, the excitement for the future and what it holds. So my goal has been to try and dive into the art scene here and get into as many art shows as possible. I do have to remind myself that we are still settling in and to pace myself but I'm ready to hit the ground running.   I will be apart of the ...

One of my friends and I took an adventure to the mountains the other day! We headed toward Georgetown. Our mission: Hiking Silver Dollar Lake and enjoying the lovely views of Guanella Pass. We happened to come at the perfect time as this was the last time of the year to see the leaves change. Coming from the Appalachian mountains of Georgia these views were so amazing yet so different. Its crazy to think about all the natural wonders that are just out there waiting for you to explore!  Well needless to say it was a wonderful trip. We went off-roading in my friends little KIA and saw a peep show we were maybe not ready for! The trail was poorly marked so we veered off a little on our own adventure but eventually we made it to the lake! What a sight to be seen and me naturally I just want to jump on in. Heading the cold weather I opted out of my thought to dive.   Afterwards we headed down the pass to Idaho Springs where we enjoyed a couple brews and some yummy fare at Tommy...

So I've attached some pictures! One is of my newest creation "Fay of the deep dark blue"! I absolutely love this painting. This piece has not only been a pain in the ass at times but an eye opener. I love that every time I paint I always learn something new, not from a lesson but just from trial and error and being creative with my techniques! This helps me become more and more confident in what I'm doing, which is something I have always struggled with!  Anyways, check it out and tell me what you think!!! The second photo is of my newest project! I'm extremely excited about this one and can't wait to see how this will turn out! Stay tuned for more updates! All my art is available for sale on etsy.com/shop/deadloveart  I also take request for custome pieces! Enjoy Kay D Dead Love Art

I'm so excited to have a new corn hole order! I've been working on this for about 5 days now! Doing custom football logos for the Gators and Ferman Unv.  This order has been a struggle with such limited time! Working a full time job and then filling orders can be a bit stressful but I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's such a dream come true to be able to do what I love! Working hard and pulling in the late hours can at times seem never ending but when I stop and think "Wow I'm really doing this, ya it's late but I'm creating something that someone will have forever!" . I just want to thank everyone for the continuing support and love! You all have truly been te kick start to my future!  I've posted some pictures from a few days ago, more recent pictures soon to come!

So I am currently working on another mermaid piece! This time I tried going for something more realistic than my last mermaid. The background was painted the other day using blues and greens with a little touch of sparkle ( Gotta have it). Well this is a work in progress, but here are some pictures of the process! Here is the original sketch done on two pieces of paper. Next is the background, that was a lot of fun..backgrounds are always my favorite, its really freeing! Here are the colors I am using for her hair, lighter red mixed with neon orange to make it pop and crimson red to add some depth! For the tail I will start off with this darker green I have mixed with sparkly paint left over from a corn hole project with my sister! Then later on I will add on the light greens to make the scales! Then I had to make sure I liked the stencil I was going to use for the scales, this should work great! I also love working with watercolor pencils, they are ama...

Just finished this fantastic Custom Painting !  Painting robots are always fun and this was no different. I always love doing these custom pieces, they open up my eyes to so many other possibilities and always inspire. This particular person wanted a Husband robot giving his heart to his wife and son. What a great idea! This is an original cartoon. Hand painted with acrylic and watercolor mix. Hope you enjoy!                                                  Message me with your custom request!

Here are some early Christmas presents I made for my best friend Sarah and her fiance Micky. I was so excited to have them come up from FL to visit. It was such a great time and wish it would have lasted longer! I surprised them with these pieces the first night they arrived! I used acrylic paint and melted wax.

Worked on this piece for Jonathan, my brother in law. He is currently studying photography and I thought that this would inspire him! I really enjoyed painting this, Enjoy!   Comment with your Custom Painting Ideas!

Updates soon to come! Thanks, Dead Love A rt

So recently I have been working on expanding my painting knowledge. I never went to art school and have never taken an painting classes.( that's called natural talent baby, LOL) I've been wanting to try some new things, but sometimes have no effin clue what I'm doing! So YouTube has been a life saver, you can learn so much on-line! Some of it was silly, and some really encouraging...silly because I'm thinking things are harder then they actually are and encouraging because sometimes my artist self-esteem is just not there..I'm hoping once I get things in order and start painting more, I will feel more confident. Well, I have been working on a new "dark forest" piece. Done with acrylic and watercolor. This project made me realize I also need to get some new brushes and supplies!  I have tons of ideas that I just have not had the time to start! This coming month is going to be a crazy one. My niece & nephew are coming for a week, my sister for anot...
